Argentyńskie mistrzostwa - sezon 1986/1987: Cz. 3 - Tragedia Armando Castagny

W siódmej odsłonie czempionatu po raz drugi w sezonie 1986/1987 bezkonkurencyjny okazał się Anglik John Davis. Włoch Armando Castagna finiszował w finale na drugiej pozycji, a Niemiec Peter Hehlert na trzeciej. Dopiero czwarte miejsce zajął Gerd Riss.

W ósmej rundzie walka o zwycięstwo toczyła się do ostatniego wyścigu. W nim po raz kolejny triumfował John Davis z Anglii. Włoch Armando Castagna ponownie był drugi. Obaj zawodnicy wywalczyli dziewiętnaście punktów. Tym razem trzecie miejsce w finale zajął Niemiec Carsten Pelzmann.

W dziewiątej rundzie ze względu na problemy technicznie nie rozegrano biegu finałowego. W serii zasadniczej najskuteczniejszy był Włoch Armando Castagna. Punkt mniej na koncie zapisał Niemiec Gerd Riss, a jego rodak Peter Hehlert z dorobkiem trzynastu punków zajął trzecią pozycję.

Po dziewięciu rundach po pewny triumf zmierzał Armando Castagna. Niestety ze względu na śmierć ojca zawodnika z Włoch wrócił do ojczyzny. Ze stratą siedemnastu punktów drugą pozycję zajmował Peter Hehlert. Gerd Riss, który dołączył do rywalizacji w trzeciej rundzie plasował się póki co na podium mistrzostw.
