Tragiczne informacje za pośrednictwem Twittera przekazał piłkarski klub sportowy Wattsville FC. W wieku 46 lat zmarła Katie Morris, żona dyrektora cyklu Grand Prix, Phila Morrisa.
Phil Morris dyrektorem cyklu Grand Prix jest od sezonu 2015. Walijczyk na tym stanowisku zastąpił Tony Olssona.
Do zadań Morrisa należy m.in. nadzorowanie nad przygotowywaniem torów na rundy cyklu wyłaniającego indywidualnego mistrza świata.
Phil Morris za pośrednictwem Twittera pożegnał swoją żonę. "Z bólem serca informuję, że moja Piękna żona Katie zmarła spokojnie we wtorek. Jej życie na zawsze zostanie zapamiętane przez wszystkich, którzy ją znali. Katie opuściła ten świat, ale nie moje serce".
